Education for Ministry

"Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them."

Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to respond to the call to Christian service and carry out their ministries.

EfM is a four year curriculum which meets for 2+ hours weekly for 36 weeks.

Rev. Jean McCarthy and Anna Whipple are mentors.

  • Year One: The Hebrew Bible
  • Year Two: The New Testament
  • Year Three: Church History
  • Year Four: Theology, Ethics, and Interfaith Encounter

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knitters meet on Saturday mornings, usually once a month, to knit and talk. Prayer shawls, baby blankets, and chemo caps are created to be distributed to parishioners. They are blessed by the clergy and serve to remind the wearer of the depth of God's love, whether the circumstance be difficult or celebratory.

Weekly Weeders

Gardeners tend the rain garden and grounds throughout the growing season.
