Our goal is to help our children become disciples of Jesus Christ and to know how very much God loves them. Classes for Children meet at 10 am. Infants and toddlers are welcome to remain with their parents in the 10 am service. Nursery care is provided in Room 211, should the need arise.

Nursery ~ Infant through Three Years

Nursery care is available for our youngest ones, beginning at 10 am. As you enter from the parking lot, the nursery is found down the long main hall, in Room 211.

Godly Play ~ Older Preschool through 3rd Grade

Children age three through 3rd Grade join their teachers and friends at 10 am for Bible stories in the Godly Play classroom, Room 214.

Godly Play uses storytelling and play (with child-sized figures and settings) to educate and guide children in the use of religious language—parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action—so that they become more aware of God’s presence in their lives. The Godly Play room is a peaceful environment; each class follows the pattern of a service: preparation (meeting and greeting), the Word (listening and responding to a story), Communion (sharing juice and a snack), a blessing and dismissal.

Regular youth events are planned at the diocesan (state) level. Amy Mellies, the youth missioner for the Diocese of Iowa, can provide information on youth retreats, camps, social activities, and worship.

All teachers are required to complete the training created by the national Episcopal Church, called Safeguarding God's Children.

The Episcopal Church is serious in its call to love, shelter, protect, and defend children within its own community and in the world. The Safeguarding God's Children program was developed to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse in everyday life and ministry. By keeping our children safe we can empower them to grow, receiving and responding to God’s love.
