Thursday's program at noon will feature three young organists.
Jenner Lathrop, a recent graduate of Central College with a major in Biology and minors in Music and Spanish. He is a student of Mark A. Babcock, and will play the Nativity Suite for Organ by Wilbur Held, and works by Paul Manz and John Behnke. Mr. Lathrop is employed with the Waukee post office, and works as a voice-over actor.
Sage Lehnertz will receive her Music Education Degree with honors this month from Simpson Colllege. She is active as a pianist, organist, saxophonist, and recorder player. Ms. Lenertz is originally from Hampton, IA. She is a student of Carl Gravander. In addition to playing the music of Hal Hopson and Peter Dickinson, student and teacher will play the Christmas Fantasy of Charles Callahan.
Ross Jallo, a student of Dr. Gregory Hand, is pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Iowa. He is active as a recitalist in both the Midwest and Germany. His degrees are from Augustana College and the University of Notre Dame. He has spent the last three summers visiting historic instruments in Germany, Austria, and Scandinavia. His Advent and Christmas repertoire includes the music of Reger, Buxtehude, and Demessieux.
