St. Paul's is pleased to welcome a new group to sing Choral Evensong. Canticum Novum is an elite choral ensemble based in Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Iowa specializing in the performance of early sacred music.

Canticum Novum first began in 2015 as a one-on-a-part chamber ensemble learning renaissance music for fun. Since then, the choir has grown in both membership and quality and includes some of the finest voices in the Cedar Valley. Canticum Novum is coordinated and directed by Ben Owen, active conductor, pianist, and teacher in the Cedar Valley.

Mr. Owen plans for the music of William Smith, Horatio Parker, Herbert Howells, and Claudio Monteverdi. Cathedral Organist Mark A. Babcock plays for the service and Fr. Troy Beecham is the Officiant. As is our custom, we invite you to linger after the service, meet our guest choir and enjoy refreshments.
